Vinea Marson Rosè 2015

Vinea Marson Rosè 2015

Amidst the clamour for rosé (one of the fastest growing segments in the wine industry) it’s always great to know that not everyone ascribes to the ‘must taste like Provence rosé’ theory. This Vinea Marson is more light red than rosé anyway, and its good. Savoury, tangy, meal-friendly good. Coppery salmon orange, it’s a blend of 75% Sangiovese and 25% Nebbiolo that spends 9 months in old barrels. Gently textural and savoury, it’s a lovely pale rosado with grippy tannins and just a hint of strawberry fruit. It’s a less obvious, gentle, bottle aged rosé that I think has some cerebral appeal. Love the tannins too. Yes.

Best drinking: Now. 17.7/20, 92/100. 13.5%, $28. Would I buy it? I’d share a bottle.
