Tucks Ridge Estate Pinot Noir 2016
Things are changing at Tucks Ridge, and this is the last of the old, pre-Montalto era. Fruit primarily from Red Hill up the top of the Peninsula. Wild fermented, it spent 10 months in 20% new oak. A surprisingly subdued (especially for the warm vintage), but correct Mornington Pinot with raspberry fruit and a gentle, slightly short finish (if not missing tannins). Pleasant, but feels like it’s missing a little concentration.
Best drinking: Now to four years. 17/20, 90/100. 13.5%, $45. Would I buy it? No.

There’s been a lot of Tucks Ridge pinot on Vinomofo. The Buckle version has significantly more grunt & concentration & generally goes for around $45.
