Want an example of the right wine, in the right packaging, at the right price? Little wonder it has now sold out.
Dave Bicknell’s sparkling Meunier rosé lobs in a style that is both pure and crunchy, but with leesy notes too. Crisp, crunchy strawberry fruit is the star here –  definitely a vinous style, but never feels heavy. The palate has gentle, soft edges (thanks to two years on lees and some barrel components) and yet a tang too. It’s not Champagne, and doesn’t pretend to be. But the textural cleverness vs fruit vibrancy is excellent. Best drinking: Good now. If you can find it. 17.7/20, 92/100. 11.4%, $40. Would I buy it? Yes.
