Lou Miranda Estate Old Vine Grenache 2018
One of the better wines from the Lou Miranda stable for mine. Nails the old vine Grenache mode with generous fruit and no oak.
From vines planted in 1917 and has that kaleidoscope of old vine flavour. Ripe plum fruit with a lovely, plump and substantial palate. It’s ultra generous, yet finishes with lovely Grenache sandy tannins. The only filip is some late warmth – it’s just a fraction alcohol sweet to finish. Still, it’s probably worth it for this shape and flavour. 14%, $45. 18/20, 93/100. Would I buy it? Worth a glass or two.
