Fun wine is this The Other Wine Co. Shiraz Pinot Noir 2019, no doubt, much like other wines in the range. Adelaide Hills Shiraz and Tassie Pinot, the most unlikely combo for a good time. Seriously bright purple colour too, with a whisper of mulch and whole bunch spice, whole berry juiciness and a fizz of acidity to finish. Beaujolais ahoy! It’s a bit meaty, a bit gummy yet with tangy tannins too. It’s crunchy, juicy and oh-so energetic, needing only a second gear to be a slam dunk. Good stuff. Best drinking. 17.5/20, 91/100. 13%, $26. The Other Wine Co. website. Best drinking: nowish. Would I buy it? Well worth a few glasses.
