Born & Raised The Super T 2017

Review: Born & Raised The Super T 2017

Not a super hero, but an ambitious Victorian Super Tuscan take from David Messum. Born & Raised The Super T 2017 sees Heathcote Sangiovese & Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot from Sunbury. Unconventional fruit sourcing but hey. Bright and berried but with a meaty ferrous tang, it’s savoury, firm and firmly Sangiovese-driven, with plenty of dark berries finished off with a dark and slightly raw heart. Interest here, in a mod-Tuscan style, even it’s a bit hard at the edges. Best drinking: from now, but worth a decant. 17.5/20, 91/100. 14.2%, $40. Born & Raised website. Would I buy it? A glass.
