Torzi Matthews Schist Rock Shiraz 2020

Review: Torzi Matthews Schist Rock Shiraz 2020

Mark this new Torzi Matthews Schist Rock Shiraz 2020 as another absolute winner from Dom Torzi.

Chocolate and coffee bean oak, but not oaky, the palate taut, mid-weight, surprisingly tannic, and even introduces some truffley complexity in there too. Not profound in its fruit weight or intensity, but choc-full of dark-fruited Eden Valley Shiraz charisma for very few dollars. Yes yes! Best drinking: good to go, and for plenty of years yet. 17.7/20, 92/100. 14.5%, $25. Torzi Matthews website. Would I buy it? Well worth a bottle.

  1. Hi Andrew, have your tried their Mystic Park or Frost dodger Shiraz?

  2. Neither. Normally I’m a big fan of the Frost Dodger though
