Want a pretty classic Margaret River Cab for $30? Say hello to the Howard Park Miamup Cabernet Sauvignon 2020. Proper regional aromatics here – bay leaf and eucalypt meet dark berry cedar and lead pencil. Classic lines on the palate, too – grippy, powdercoat style full mouth Cab tannins, some vaguely charry dark berries filling in the holes. Really substantial! Maybe a bit wooden and tannic, but man, it feels throaty and regional. Shitloads of Margaret River charisma for $30.
Best drinking: now and for ten years easy. 17.7/20, 92/100. 14.5%, $30. Howard Park website. Would I buy it? Worth a glass or two.
