First Foot Forward Upper Yarra Chardonnay 2021

First Foot Forward Upper Yarra Chardonnay 2021. It’s worth more than $32….

Martin Siebert’s First Foot Forward wines are often awesome value, and service resumes here. I love labels like this, as you’re not paying for anything beyond a winemaker sourcing juice and crafting his own wines in true side hustle style (and I bloody love a side hustle). Upper Yarra fruit for this First Foot Forward Chardonnay 2021 and from the Lone Star Creek Vineyard. A-grade fruit, A-grade winemaker, A-grade wine.

It’s a fine, filigreed, appley Chardonnay with delicacy and a light apple cream pie and acid mode. I love the delicacy – feels very fine and fresh with its creamed apple and funk, even if I’d like just a little more weight. Dances through your mouth with a white flower clay prance. Enjoyment levels = high.
