Lerida’s portfolio is on a roll, especially for Syrah/Shiraz. There’s a Cab Franc in my pile too, which I’m looking forward to. This Lerida Estate Cullerin Syrah 2022 really feels like essence-of-Canberra stuff, with this wonderful complexity to it that feels so right and cool. Syrah is the right label for it. Though, you’d be forgiven for calling it riper than 13% alcohol, with this dark berry plum and cranberry nose that feels ripe and luscious. There are still streaks of black spice and a mushroom/ham edge that feels like a cool year in Canberra (which 2022 was. Or at least wet). Lots going on, with a palate that feels generous in its blackberry fruit but still lithe and spicy. I like this a lot.

Perfect timing. I’m in the ACT overnight and stopping in there tomorrow. Will pick up a pack to taste.
Worth a look. Whole range is smart. Let me know highlights?
