Reflecting Light White Feather Chardonnay 2022

Review: Reflecting Light White Feather Chardonnay 2022

Always a pleasure when a brand-new Macedon Ranges Chardonnay arrives on the doorstep. This Reflecting Light White Feather Chardonnay 2022 from Ben Kimmorley, who is the assistant winemaker at Curly Flat, is an easy pleasure.

Wild ferments in barrel, minimal additions, partial malo. Despite the serious handling, this feels quite easygoing, which is an important distinction because the frosty regional style can look bloody lean as a young wine. Pineapple and lemon, nectarine juiciness, but a sense of lightness and tightness. 50% malo, but it looks more round in the finish, even if it falls away just a little. So much to like at this price.
