Just a smidgen subdued and lightish, but this Tarrawarra Chardonnay is widely available, reliable and well put together, even if it’s not particularly exciting. Oatmeal, a flash of cashew oak, a whiff of ripe peach fruit and plenty of acidity. It is classy, even if the palate doesn’t last long, as it falls into grapefruit tartness without quite the length. It still goes okay, though you’d want to pay the $27 retail price, not the $35 full RRP.
