Soumah U.Ngumby Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023

Review: Soumah U.Ngumby Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023. What a great vineyard name (and nice wine)

Lovely Yarra Pinot. I think the ripeness has really been dialled in perfectly in these recent Soumah releases, and this Pinot is bang on. Bright raspberry fruit, a little sausage meat, lines of spiced cherry bacony highlights, then it fizzes on through the finish with brisk, natural acidity. It’s just a teensy bit lean on the back end, but bravo, this is delicious wine.

    THE VERDICT

  • Best drinking: now and for the next five years. I’d drink it younger to enjoy that fruit
  • Score (out of 20): 18.5
  • Score (out of 100): 94
  • Alcohol %: 13
  • RRP (in $AUD): 48

  • Would I buy it?: yes
