Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2022

Review: Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2022

A bigger version of this Terre à Terre Franc in 2022, and it’s an age off being ready to drink. It’s a wine to stick in the cellar and forget about – these wines look great at about 8 years old, FWIW. Anyway, there’s 9 % Shiraz in the blend, and matured for 14 months in barrel. Dense and has a sort of blanched minty deepness that tends just a little black and drying. Palate has an extra lift of vanilla oak over dark red and blackcurrant fruit, then it gets a bit drying and desiccated, with this warming blackness through the finish that’s a bit bulky and black. Powerhouse, though, which is appealing for the long run.

    THE VERDICT
