Peninsula is the affordable range of Mornington wines from Crittenden, but the style here feels much fancier than something entry-level. Then again, we’re talking about a $39 bottle of Chardonnay, so hey, decent expectations. Anyway, this is a gentle, crisp, light, and crunchy Mornington Chard but with depth and swagger. A bit of sulphide funk, milk bottles and the like. The palate falls into the appley, leanish side of the fence, but it’s creamy and complex enough for a second or third glass. Stylish stuff.
