Meredith Marnie Rosé 2024

Sophisticated rosé from Meredith – the Marnie Rosé 2024

Ben Luker’s Meredith Wines label throws up plenty of thoughtful western Victorian wines, but of all the 2024 vintage releases, this rosé might be the most surprising – it’s definitely a very drinkable wine.

A blend of Sangiovese & Pinot Gris from the Camfield Vineyard in the Pyrenees. There’s a bit of skin contact driving this wine with the Gris spending five days on skins to make this almost ramato-style. Plenty going on here too.

Salmon orange, it’s bright but savoury, with pink fruit, clean and crisp forest berries and this careful balance between generosity and crisp lines with this gentle creaminess to carry it all off. A bit of a triumph, really, even if its not a wildly complex style.
