It shows nettle and fennel on the nose, yet nothing to suggest unripeness. Rather, it’s got a tropical flourish without the tinned passionfruit found in so many Marlborough Sauv Blancs. Like muchly.
It tastes different too – driven by flavour intensity and big acidity, with a solid wall of both flavour and phenolic grip.

Really smart Sauv.
Drink: 2013-2017
Score: 18/20, 93/100
Would I buy it? A glass or two with a cheeky Szechuan crab would be ideal.

This is my go to sauvignon blanc, amazing acidity, delicious fruit but never feels tired. I think that its vastly underestimated. I love the Merry Edwards sauv blanc, but this is 60% the price and just as enjoyable (to my palate) and walks over Cloudy Bay. I like Astrolabe and Greywacke but I always return to Dog Point
There's one other sauv blanc that I think compares- the 2011 Grey Stack Cellars Sauvignon Blanc Rosemary's Block Dry Stack Vineyard.
