A Soul Growers white wine? Crazy talk. It’s crazy-good too.
Sourced a single vineyard just outside of the Eden Valley township, this really does nail the acid/fruit relationship, showing both the chalk and lime of Eden Valley Rizza, a little bottle development and a briny, firm, yet not puckering palate. A really soft, ‘naturalness’ to that acidity methinks, with just the tiniest amount of residual sugar (or it feels like it at least) to keep everything humming.
No super power this, just a super representative, unforced Eden Valley Riesling that doesn’t feel like a (fiercely acidic) chore to drink. Two thumbs up.
Score: 18/20, 93/100
Would I buy it? At $20 a bottle? Absolutely.
