Tasted: April 2013
Tasted a year ago, but comprehensive notes. Probably my favourite Coriole Fiano of the last 3 vintages, edging out the 2011 and easily bettering the slightly broad 2013.
White flowers and honeyed chalk. A hint of mothballs and a salty sea breeze. In other words – smells fresh. Something almost Verdelho-like in that white pear fruit too. Slightly forward, chalky palate is quite acid driven and has a wonderful tang. All very refreshing and summery with good length.
A simple, drinking wine but a good one at that.
Drink: 2013-2015
Score: 17.4/20, 90/100
Would I buy it? Yes.
