Battle of Bosworth Chardonnay 2012

Battle of Bosworth Chardonnay 2012 (McLaren Vale, SA)
13%, Screwcap, $25

Lovers of old-school, full-flavoured Chardonnay rejoice, for here is an organic ‘rich and buttery’ wine to get your teeth into.

Of course McLaren Vale is not the first place you that comes to mind when thoughts turn to Chardonnay, but this Battle of Bosworth number is pretty satisfying.

A rather yellow and peachy number, it carries full spicy oak and white nectarine fruit richness, on a round and weighty palate. The acidity is a bit abrupt and perhaps the palate is a fraction bulky, but the cuddly roundness is definitely going to win fans. Solid stuff.

Tasted: March 2014
Drink: 2014-2016
Score: 16.8/20, 89/100
Would I buy it? A bit broad for that. A glass or two.
