Printhie Mountain Range Chardonnay 2012 (Orange, NSW)
13%, Screwcap, $20
The littlest member of the Printhie Chardonnay range and ultimately the lesser wine – it’s intentions are for vitailty, but it feels incomplete, especially against its excellent (and more more expensive) siblings.
Older oak (hessian) over broad and quite sweet tinned peach fruit. Primary and peachy, the acid firm, the style not quite convincing enough in its flavour penetration – you just feel that this is a little made for the price point.
