Mitchell Harris Sabre 2010 (Macedon and Pyrenees, Vic)
12.5%, Diam, $40
A more delicate and demure wine compared to the 2008, again spending 2 years on lees before disgorgement Oct 13. A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Macedon and Pyrenees.
That delicacy is quite welcome really, making for a super dry and detailed style that feels more Chardonnay dominant than it actually is, with faint marzipan edges on what is a light and notably dry wine.
I’d like just a little more punch, but the delicacy is very impressive (and quite delicious). Should put on weight with more time in bottle too.
