Hardys Tintara McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
No surprises what you’re going to get with this wine. If you’re a fan of the Tintara style (rich and oaky, generous McLaren Vale reds) then this will hit your spot.
Dark purple red, the oak sweet and milk chocolatey, the fruit also sweet berry juicy. Truth be told this could almost be McLaren Vale Shiraz with that sweetness and mid palate richness. Easy blackberry appeal though and the smooth palate is going to win friends. It’s not overly varietal or substantially structured. But it does what it says on the box and does it well.
Details: 14%, Screwcap, $28. Best drinking: 2015-2022. 17/20, 90/100.
Would I buy it? Not quite, but I’d recommend it when it comes on special sub $20
