$20 Vale Shiraz fun: Lino Ramble Vinyl McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016

Lino Ramble Vinyl McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016

For a while there I thought that Lino Ramble was something obscure. What’s a Lino Ramble? I was even pronouncing it ‘Lee-no’. Turns out it’s just a reference to lino – AKA the stuff on my Mum’s floor. The Lino Ramble wines are super fun too; always vibrant and typically well priced. Andy & Angela seem like cool people too. The kind you want to do well.

There’s plenty of appeal about this Shiraz (which includes 10% Grenache). Purple maroon coloured, there’s a dash of choc mint meeting the luscious purple berry fruit in a giant juicy squish. Only medium bodied, perhaps a little sweet and sour, but fun and authentic. A cheap wine, but it doesn’t taste cheap, just energetic. $20 of juicy fun. Best drinking: 2017-2020. 17.5/20, 91/100. 14.2%, $20. Would I buy it? I’d go a few glasses at least.

  1. Always fun wines and reasonably priced.

  2. Good wines.
Lino. Short for linoleum, to be exact.
(I didn’t know what a treadlie was though).

    1. Ha. I was the other way around – took me a bit to get the lino(leum) reference, but I’m all over a treadlie!
