Meerea Park Alexander Munro Aged Release Semillon 2011

Review: Meerea Park Alexander Munro Aged Release Semillon 2011

Always a pleasure to check in on older Sem and this Meerea Park Alexander Munro Aged Release Semillon 2011 is in a good place.

Gentle, rounded and toasty, the flattering palate is nice and open, with this almost tropical generosity over more classic green apple.

It’s still young, but already in prime drinking, a wine that is very easy to like, if just a little diffuse to finish.  Genuinely enjoyable drinking here, if not quite the superstar definition.

Best drinking: nowish really. It will hold for a decade, though I’m not sure it will get better. 17.7/20, 92/100. 11%, $80. Meerea Park website. Would I buy it? Worth a glass or two.
