From Wirra Wirra’s newish biodynamic label, complete with great packaging, comes the Wirra Wirra Amator Nouveau 2020.

A blend of McLaren Vale Grenache, Shiraz and Touriga with 5% whole bunches and partial carbonic maceration. Nouveau is clearly the play. It’s a vibrant, lightly confected and fun drinking red, has a just-finished fermenting mode and then a light finish. Gluggable, if a little simple for this price point, and a great showcase for pure McLaren Vale fruit.
