The early vintages of the Mesh Riesling were very good, but never as superb as either Pewsey Valey or Grosset can produce. The recent releases haven’t hit the high notes either. This Mesh Riesling 2020 doesn’t shift the dial.
It’s still a decent Riesling. Expressive with this lightly floral, very correct and linear style of Eden Riesling, the nose aromatic and lifted, the palate fullish with gritty acidity. You wouldn’t call this an easy wine, but it is long. Good, but I want more – and more palate cohesion.
Mesh Riesling 2020. Best drinking: Right now, or wait. Another four years and this might be even more of a delight. 17.5/20, 91/100. 12%, $35. Mesh website. Would I buy it? A glass.
