Fowles Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Wild Ferment Shiraz 2019

Review: Fowles Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Wild Ferment Shiraz 2019

It’s a mouthful but a good name – Fowles Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Wild Ferment Shiraz 2019. Matt Fowles has co-authored a book on wine and friendship called Weekends with Matt that I quite liked too.

There is plenty of affable flavour to kick off this Victorian Shiraz, too – all plump, ripe, purple fruited, quite an expanse of flavour but plenty of acidity holds it In. It threatens to go big, but the acid is a real tightened, and the alcohol is warm.

Easygoing stuff, ultimately, even if I want more for the dollars.

Best drinking: soonish. 17/20, 90/100. 14.9%, $35. Fowles website. Would I buy it? A glass.
