Soumah Pinot Noir Syrah 2021

Review: Soumah Pinot Noir Syrah 2021

Ambitious, if lacking a little cohesion, this Soumah Pinot Noir Syrah 2021 is a story of contrasts. There’s a wave of plush purple fruit, herbs, and angles. Black texta, a little spiced blueberry, then the palate gets more spice driven and lighter than the initial generosity. I wanted it to pick a vibe really – generous, or light and frisky? Certainly some prettiness, but the back end also feels bony too. Could almost be Yarra Syrah Viognier with that nose., but not the palate. Interesting enough. Best drinking: nowish. 17/20, 90/100. 13.5%, $35. Soumah website. Would I buy it? A glass.
