Oakridge Local Vineyard Series Willowlake Pinot Noir 2021

Welcome to the pleasure palace with the Oakridge Local Vineyard Series Willowlake Pinot Noir 2021

Oof. You want seduction? A come hither wine that oozes silken sensual red fruit? This Oakridge Local Vineyard Series Willowlake Pinot Noir 2021 is where it’s at.

Part of the always glorious Local Vineyard Series, and sourced from everyone’s favourite Yarra Valley grower vineyard Willowlake, the reason why this works is the seamlessness. With some whole berry and whole bunches for juiciness and tannins, there is this joy, this unadulterated flow of raspberry coulis fruit that is both sweet but spicy and even sour (in the right way) with feather fine tannins.

The best Willowlake Pinot in living memory and I might even be underrating this – 96/100 is not out of the question.

Best drinking: good now. No hurry. 18.7/20, 95/100. 13.2%, $45. Oakridge website. Would I buy it? Over many wines double the price. Yes, in other words.
