That’s because this is Clare Valley wine for not-now. It’s chewy, pithy, tangy, and brooding, with limey fruit intensity for days. Mid-palate power is the clincher, and the biting citrusy acidity driving the package. It’s a little sour, but hey that’s part of the equation. What’s not in doubt is how good this will look with 6-20 years time. Hold, hold, hold.
