I kept waiting for the penny to drop with this Semillon, bit it never did.
Produced from a vineyard at Milbrodale, which falls within the Broke-Fordwich sub-district, it smells light and quite delicate, all lemongrass and sherbet. The problem is that the palate never quite gets up to speed, falling away quite quickly to a lean and washed out finish. There’s a certain length to it, suggesting that there is potential here, but otherwise the intensity is nearly non existent.
