Ballandean Estate is one of the stalwarts of QLD wine, pumping out consistent wines that can lack excitement, but are typically clean and sound.

With a whole strip of trophies from the QLD Wine Awards I thought this might be the wine to buck the trend, but its a clean, neutral and simple, the mid-palate showing some fleshiness before finishing crisp and dry.

Varietally sound but ultimately boring Viognier.

Drink: 2013-2014
Score: 16/20, 87/100
Would I buy it? No.
