Thomas Six Degrees Semillon 2013 (Hunter Valley, NSW)
This is Andrew ‘Thommo’ Thomas’ off-dry Semillon, the grapes picked early and then fermented down until it hits circa 30g/L. Admittedly this Semillon clearly isn’t targeted at me, but even so I didn’t enjoy this much, with the sugar dominating every nook and cranny. The acidity balances it back a fraction on the finish but by then the damage is done.
Not a fan. Others, however, will love it.
Drink: 2014
Score: 15/20, 84/100
Would I buy it? No. I’d buy Braemore instead.
