Roll on the ’16 Rizzas.

I’m interested to see the reception for this Clare/Eden vintage, with plenty of enthused winemakers. To me, it seems to be a good normal vintage so far, as opposed to something superstar-ish.

This is a surprisingly generous wine too. Lots of luscious melon and citrus on the nose. Aromatic yeast? Certainly fleshy. Generous palate starts full and then tightens up markedly on the very dry finish.

A bit Jekyll & Hyde but that fleshiness is tasty as. Drink earlier. Best drinking: 2016-2026. 17.5/20, 91/100. 12%, $25. Would I buy it? I’d go a few glasses at least.
