An awful lot of flavour for the dollars. That’s it. This Kirrihill Regional Series Shiraz 2019 is $19 well spent.
A little mint, bitumen and cherry jam, the tarry palate and caramel old oak a little dusty and drying, the acid twangy too. It’s not sophisticated, but packs in a load of bold, hearty Clare Valley fruit.
Kirrihill Regional Series Shiraz 2019. Best drinking: now or for up to ten years. 17/20, 90/100. 14.5%, $19. Kirrihill website. Would I buy it? It’s not my bag, but I can appreciate the value.

Andrew, this Kirrihill is being flogged out there by some on liners. The regalia is amazing but it obviously has appealed to many judges to stack on the golds. Very interesting really. Must be over qualified in its competitions.
I can see why it would win competitions – it’s not short on intensity. Just a bit rough-edged for higher points.
