The old school Clare lusciousness of the Taylors St Andrew’s Shiraz 2020

No matter what happens, there will seemingly always be a place for lush and full-bodied Clare Valley Shiraz. It’s that combo of power and yet a certain refreshment. This Taylors St Andrews Shiraz 2020 is an archetype wine, too. It’s very Taylors in its expanse and slight sense of oak-enforced weightiness. It’s five years old, but could be two. The lush, purple, sweet-fruited, full-tilt, mid-palate-driven mode here is such a certain style. Smooth, very ripe, dark-berried, a little minty. En mode. A little OTT, but powerful too. There’s a stickiness to the tannins, a warmth and a slickness. It’s proper Christimassy and timeless drinking.
